How to Have a Relaxing 30 Minute Evening Routine

How often do you feel unmotivated at the end of the day? In order to have your beauty rest, make a relaxing 30 minute evening routine.

Last September I started a new job at a restaurant after quitting work at Starbucks for 4 years.  I turned from a midday worker to working almost every evening which changed my sleep schedule.  After a long day of doing my morning ritual, doing my website, working my scheduled job, all I think about doing is going to sleep.

I came up with a evening routine to help me get a good night’s sleep and wake up to a good start.

Before getting ready for bed, put your electronics aside as a result to stay focuseb on getting your beauty rest. 

Making a night routine is a self care ritual developing you to get energized for the next day.  Recap what happened during today by acknowledging your wellbeing and accepting what comes in your next chapter.

Don’t rush when you are getting ready for bed on a time limit because you are taking this moment to romanticize yourself.  Helping you to destress and motivate you to stay productive for your lifestyle.  

If you want your night routine to be more fun and relaxing, light a candle, turn on some music, and drink a cup of herbal tea.  Do some activities to make your night routine more enjoyable.

Eat a Healthy Snack ~ 5 Minutes

No one likes to go to bed on an empty stomach.  If you feel hungry before going to sleep, snack on something healthy that will give you a good night’s rest.  If you sleep without eating you can get your body out of shape and possibly wake up feeling more stiff.

Take a Small Rinse Off ~ 5 Minutes

Rinse the dirt off your skin to make a fresh and clean start to your next day.  Going to bed without a rinse off is uncomfortable and gives you bad hygiene. 

Take Care of Your Skin and Brush Your Teeth ~ 10 Minutes

Take time to reflect on how your day went while you’re doing your skincare and brushing your teeth.  Other than having glowing skin and perfectly white teeth, you are taking time for a self ritual to develop a healthier relationship with yourself.  

Put Some PJ’s On and Make a Cozy Corner ~ 5 Minutes

Put on something, or don’t, whatever you’re comfortable with sleeping in is what you’ll make your next day a great start.  Make sure your bed is nice and neat for you to relax to have your beauty rest.

Night Reading and Journaling ~ 5 Minutes

If you’re having a hard time going to sleep, scrolling through TikTok and watching YouTube is not the best option. In fact it worsens your vision and increases your anxiety.  Instead you can grab a book to read and write your thoughts down in a journal.

Have a Good Night’s Rest ~ 8 Hours

Once you begin dozing off, turn off your lights, close your eyes, and have a good start to your next day with a nice morning routine.
