How is the relationship with yourself going? Most people struggle to grow a better relationship with themselves. I found 10 reasons why you’re not taking care of yourself.

I was told back in high school that you can’t love someone if you don’t love yourself.  During the pandemic season was a wake up call for me to understand myself.  I learned how to have healthier routines, better ways to take care of myself, and improve on my wellbeing.

When you wake up all you can think about is missing someone or opportunities.  Depending how lost you feel your mind can go auto pilot.

Feeling those negative emotions can cause you to burn out, but that doesn’t mean you’re not good enough.  Also losing yourself may motivate you to act with negative behaviors, bad habits, and drive you into your comfort zone.

This is an overwhelming situation when you think to yourself “I can’t do it”. However the more you think about it, the more you’re likely to give up on yourself.

You Feel Lost 

The feeling of being lost is an uncomfortable feeling with your self-relationship.  However these situations can be a sign that you should take time alone to take a solo date to remember who you were.

You Don’t Know What You’re Doing 

Not knowing what you’re doing possibly leads you to develop a bad habit. Also can prevent you from being confident and successful. When you feel like you’re out of place, pick you top 3 things you love doing  to learn and develop your talent. After that you will develop a talent you are passionate about.

Low Self-Esteem 

Having low self-esteem is what lowers your motivation to your success.  If you want to find a way to boost your confidence, then you will feel like yourself again.

Hate Being Alone 

People hate being alone because they are afraid of feeling lonely and  having no one to talk to.  Talk to some who you hadn’t had contact with for a while or ask for advice.

High Expectations From Others 

Having high expectations from others makes you co-dependent which is an unhealthy way to go on with your connection with someone. Keep in mind that others have their own priorities and will not always have time to take care of you. Take time to catch up on your tasks, chores, and your favorite series.

Letting People Take Advantage of You 

People are likely to take advantage of you when you constantly give them what they want.  You will barely have time to take care of yourself if you let people walk all over.  Set yourself some boundaries.

Afraid of Making Changes 

If you’re afraid of making changes for your lifestyle, then you have to learn that things are not meant to last forever.  When you think about it, you are entering a new era of your lifestyle.  You can do some activities as you are making a reset for your lifestyle.

Too Much Comfort

As nice as it is to stay in bed all day, you are missing opportunities to succeed in the lifestyle you dreamed of.  Your comfort zone is not the place where you can find happiness.  To get out of comfort, you can find some self care activities during your free time.

Struggle to Find Happiness 

Let’s be real, people like to gossip because the struggle to find their happiness.  That doesn’t mean you have to do the same.  When you’re not happy with yourself you tend to do things that aren’t logical.  To stay happy you can do things i.e. coping with your emotions.

Another way of getting to know you emotions, try using the The Shadow-Work Journal learning from your experiences and mistakes.

No Goals and No Plans

Having no goals and no plans prevents you from succeeding with your dreams.  If you’ve been  thinking about what you want to do with your life, the write a list of small goals and work your way to live the dreams you desire.  No need to rush it because baby steps is a way of learning from your experiences.
